Déjà vu – Oil Paintings by Ko Nam 高楠

  • (Hong Kong, May 2014) Wan Fung Art Gallery proudly presents, “Déjà vu – Oil Paintings by KO NAM” exhibition from 5th to 19th June. The exhibition features about 40 pieces of KO Nam’s oil paintings. Cocktail reception will start at 3pm on 5th June (Thu).

    Ko Nam lost his hearing when he was 3 by illness. Although he was deaf, he was still keen on drawing. He has studied painting with several celebrated artists since he was small. In 1994 Ko has emigrated to Hong Kong. Ko loves still-life sketching so much. He has just accomplished a 6-month oil painting journey in Europe last year. He left Western communion handwriting on canvas, not only inherited the tradition of Chinese painting mountains, at the same time absorbed the essence of Western painting and folk genre painting. His artworks always reveal optimistic feelings, creating a unique style of “Ko” style.

    "What life has moved me is that I lost my hearing, but still be able to travel freely around the world and do sketching everywhere I want, which is already a wonderful voyage to me ...... ", said by Ko. He is showing a positive life and strong spirit to everyone. He hopes this could encourage the youngsters to cherish such good environment to live nowadays.
